Re: Malala and Terrorism

We all love mysteries. :o Consciousness is one of them. But how strong is our desire to crack the code? We still want to know and we won't stop there. Why do we crave knowledge and understanding if we are so quixotic about the unknown? We do we want satisfactory explanations so badly? Some people wi...

Re: Malala and Terrorism

People interested in these conversations are hard to find. I struggle to understand those who don't have a modicum of interest in the wonders of life and the universe---they lack philosophical thought and existential curiosity. If you asked them what the greatest show on Earth is, they'd probably sa...

Re: Malala and Terrorism

I feel you. 8-) You guys made some interesting points. It reminds me of why I like these deep discussions; there is a lot to think, explore and talk about. We definitely established that Marxism, although ideal, isn't congruous with humankind's present state. The Soviet Union certainly gave socialis...

Re: Should Donald Trump be impeached?

Not Trump. But you're very much like Hillary. I don't have much good opinions about her. But what is your reason for saying so, if you were talking about me. :| Oh sorry, I was referring to erichsa in that she is a bit of a demagogue in the realm of New Age. :D No, I don't like Hillary ei...

Re: Can lucid dreams be used to cure mental illnesses and heal a damaged psyche?

'Pacifism is objectively pro-fascist. This is elementary common sense. If you hamper the war effort of one side, you automatically help out that of the other. Nor is there any real way of remaining outside such a war as the present one. In practice, "he that is not with me is against me"....

Re: The effects of recreational drugs inside the dreamworld

I believe drugs are merely shortcuts to such altered states of consciousness. Lucid dreaming, I suspect, can be a gateway even to those highs achievable through the taking of toxic class A drugs. At the end of the day, the euphorias and the mental elevations are nothing but subjective effects of bra...

Re: Truth serum and sleep states

Makes sense. After all, the serum is supposed to make subjects more suggestible. Imagine being suggestible in the dream world. The chances for lucidity are diminished. We can infer that one's guard is completely down. The dreamer is lost in the absorption of oneiric narratives. :ugeek:
