lucid terror

Just thought I would share a quick lucid experience I had last night...I was in deep hypnogogia and suddenly jerked awake, as I open my eyes I can see disembodied arms and legs all wrapped together wearing pajama sleeves/trousers moving jerkily (in similar motion of chinese dragons) through the air ...

Re: Can't have sex in lucid dreams – HELP

I don't think it's worth reading into this too much, this sounds like a classic mental dream block - you have got this idea in your head that you can't have sex in dreams and it's that very worry that is causing your subconscious to sabotage your attempts, causing a vicious cycle. Re: Is this lucid dreaming?

Sounds like you were between waking consciousness and sleeping deeply there! If you were aware, at the time , that you weren't actually experiencing these events and knew you were dreaming them instead, then yes, you were lucid dreaming. There is a fine line though, it can be difficult to know somet...

Re: What Dreams Say about Time

I have had a few experiences like this. I'd conclude that time in dreams does not run exactly linearly to waking reality. In your ambulance example, I'd guess that: In waking reality the alarm goes off, your brain receives this information and the dream scenario then begins, and plays out, then you ...

Re: Should i lucid dream?

Lucid dreaming is not dangerous and it won't impair your memory skills. As long as practising for lucid dreaming doesn't hinder your revision, then go for it!

Re: Physical reality checks problem

It's possible that you, subconsciously, just weren't expecting it to work, and sometimes that's enough. However there's no need to do reality checks once you are lucid at all! One you are at the lucid stage, I recommend performing some grounding techniques to immerse your senses in the dream world. ...

Well this is exactly the definition of lucid dreaming, so yes you were!

I suspect your mind was so tired (perhaps due to lack of sleep?) that it tried to push into REM sleep right away and that was why you had such odd experiences.
