Re: Trance during a power nap

Thanks for the feedback Plasticman, I didn't know that sound was called Exploding Head Syndrome, it's good to know.

Trance during a power nap

I'm planning to take a 10min power nap at work, as quite often when I feel tired in the afternoon. At 15:09, I'm sitting with my arms crossed over my knees, and my head on the topmost arm. I quickly feel myself falling to sleep. These power naps are quite amazing in the sense that I can enter a tran...

Re: Vague Hybrid Memory

I've quickly read through The Phase , and OMG, that guide is a killer! It shattered many beliefs I had due to former books I had read, and it's for the better. In matters of alternate states of consciousness it's like for the rest: you gotta keep your knowledge up to date, we are in the 21st century...

Re: Vague Hybrid Memory

Very interesting summerlander, I like your approach. Give me a couple of months to sharpen my lucid dreaming skills, and I'll join you in your experiments :) By the way I decided to embrace New Age terminology and go for "subconscious" instead of the Freudian term, will make things easier ;)

Re: Dream you are Lucid Dreaming?

To me there are varying degrees of lucidity. But the question is whether you made a conscious decision or followed the script. Also were you 'there' or observing? I am bad about remembering to do preplanned actions, but it is definitely me in that dream, not a DC of me. Thanks for asking rothgar. A...

Re: Won't this prove astral projection?

I hate to say it, blackbird, but you're already setting yourself up for failure. [...] Try going into this without a box to fit things into first. Especially if you have no experience yourself yet. Work on GAINING experience... build your box based upon your own experiences, not the experiences of ...

What is the higher purpose of lucid dreaming?

Hi fellow dreamers, I'm looking for a higher purpose of having lucid dreams. Something that has an impact on my life; more than the nice memories when I wake up. I've read a lot about the OBE, but ended up having lucid dreams instead. Some would say it's the same thing, possibly, but that's not my o...

Re: Vague Hybrid Memory

Hi Summerlander, I registered to this forum this afternoon, and I've read it full time since then. I'm very impressed with your wisdom concerning lucid dreaming. I have two questions: - What is your deck of cards experiment? - What can lucid dreaming bring of real value to us? Can it be something mo...

Re: This is not a LD. And I bet most of yours aren't!

Hi Errant Soul, I'm having a hard time following you. You use unnecessary cryptic words, it's tiring, please make an effort. Still, I'm trying to understand what you mean. You write that in this post, you feel that lucidity is "conscious awareness" and then next line that about non-lucid d...

Re: This is not a LD. And I bet most of yours aren't!

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify, I have experienced lucid dreams, the most definite experience being WILDs, with an instant transition from being "awake" to "dreaming" (no loss of consciousness at all). And my experience with LDs is what makes me critical about this one i...
