Re: Taking breaks

Amitriptyline is a strange one. Sounds like it gave you a real horrific time. I was prescribed it a long time ago and have been on it slightly on and off since (I keep stopping and starting it which is something I shouldn't do, but I'm always experimenting). Because my body is so strange after the s...

Re: At sleep time; noise or silence?

Sometimes I crave silence if I've had a busy day. Other times I feel that repetitious noise can promote relaxation and a meditative, or trance-like, state from which I lucidly catapult into dreamland. Re: Taking breaks

Wow. Thanks for all of that (again) On meditation: I just tend to do the 61 point technique at night now to see if I am tired enough to sleep as I often have difficulty getting off to sleep. The thing is I can only feel from my shoulders down so I kind of guess my way around my body. I will definite...

Taking breaks

I am a pretty hopeless lucid dreamer, I've had about 4 in just over a year. It is quite hard genuinely believing you are going to have a lucid dream (i.e. all of the priming during the day) when at the back of your mind you know you probably aren't. I've taken a couple of breaks but just wanted to s...

Re: Another question about reality checks...

Thanks, that makes sense. I tried it for a couple of days and it obviously got me reality checking but I did feel there was a lack of prospective memory or spontaneity about it.

Another question about reality checks...

Is using a beep on the hour from my phone an okay method to prompt a reality check or is it too lazy/thoughtless (taking for granted that the actual reality check is done genuinely and thoughtfully)

Re: Reality checking routine

Anyway, everyone does best with different reality checks and what dont work for me may well work well for you. I have only ever done one reality check in a dream. I was floating over my bed (and was pretty sure I was dreaming) and managed to push one hand through the other one. It was the start of ...

Re: Reality checking routine

Thanks, and then do you find yourself randomly trying to breathe through a pinched nose in your dreams?

Reality checking routine

I have yet to see something in normal life which I could consider a bit dreamlike to make me carry out a reality test. So instead I have just got into the habit of carrying out random reality checks. The literature tends to say to do more than one reality check at a time. What I tend to do is read a...
