Truth serum and sleep states

I was flicking through the Book of Amazing Answers to Curious Questions , Volume 3, when I came across this column---topic: 'Does truth serum really exist?'---on page 96: 'For nearly a century, psychiatrists have experimented with sedatives like sodium pentothal, so-called "truth serums" t...

Re: What if the Dream World is a...

I see your points. But lucid dreaming and dreaming can hardly be regarded as the same. When you constitute characters and kill them in a lucid dream, you are in charge of your world and of course no one will be harmed in real life. When you have a normal dream though, you cannot decide what happens...

In England they like to sugar-coat things for kids. No mention of the horrors of Phytic acid.

Re: The effects of recreational drugs inside the dreamworld

The more I hear about Meditation, the more interested I become in it. Especially mindfulness meditation. In the East it's known as Vipassana . It provides a perceptual insight where you realise that your subjective reality is nothing but sensory information in perpetual flux---consciousness taking f...

Re: Go for mild or WILD

The DEILD method is the quickest way to enter lucid dreamland . I'm telling you that once you master it and consistently maintain your practice, a failure is unheard of. It's so simple! All you have to do is catch that narrow window of time upon imminent awakening. I believe those who diligently pra...

Re: dream wisdom from a 10 year old

I say it's poetic wisdom. Well done. So true about dreams. Very poignant too because what appears to be real, the illusion capable of affecting us so profoundly, isn't true. (The lack of objectivity can be melancholic.) 8-)

Re: Organic Food

Especially cheese. But I try not to eat too much before bedtime otherwise my metabolism will be on overdrive and actually waste more energy on digestion than gain it. Green tea appears to help with gaining lucidity---most probably a placebo because it makes me think of the ancient Chinese drinking i...

Re: Non-religious books and DVD's about Morality

I believe it's more or less what I was describing. The self is also a mental fiction---the narrative of 'I'. If there is a sound, we assume an 'I' has to hear it (like the hearing is an act by the self that creates it). Not so. Not even with thoughts! Thoughts don't need a thinker. There is only the...

Re: Organic Food

You win the best post on organic food, then! 8-) Also, an important philosophical addition: How can absolute nothingness ever be? We can't even imagine such state (no space-time). It seems impossible or it makes no sense. What's nothing like? Not like anything and certainly the opposite of organic f...
