A reality check reminder?

Postby Mayazcherquoi » 25 Jan 2012 12:47

So,

Last night, I wasn't quite sure whether such a program existed or not, but I decided to program one anyway. It is near completion, however, to avoid wasting further time on it, does such a program already exist out there?

That is, a program which will pop up on your computer at random intervals (or intervals you set) reminding you to do a reality check?

Basically the idea of this program is to enforce reality checks on the mind and make them become a habit, to automatically do a check in dreams. :)

Thanks in advance,
Daniel. :)

I think it's best to do reality checks when the smallest thing looks even slightly unusual. This happens often enough in the waking life day and it teaches you to cue on in the strange things that happen in dreams. It's working for me.
Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world? Morpheus

What I do is make a note of all my habits, one of them being that I check the time a lot. So basically whenever I check the time, I do a reality check. Easiest way is to double check the time and make a note, apparently in dreams you cant read the time, or the symbols are different.

However dont just rely on this, as some of your habits may only occur during certain parts of the day, for instance when socialising I rarely check the time so I wont do reality checks, which is bad because most of my dreams occur around friends.
