Mulholland Drive: great movie, so many interpretations

Postby HAGART » 23 Mar 2012 17:08

This is off topic, but the movie, Mulholland Drive has so many interpretations and I was just wondering what you all think

It is a very dream based movie and if you haven't seen it, watch it!

I've seen it a dozen times and it is one of my favorite movies.

I was just wondering what you all think of it, and how you interprate it.
If we all lucid dreamed this world would be a better place.

This is the second time I've seen this movie mentioned somewhere. I've watched the trailer and it just doesn't spark my interest. Is it motivational for lucid dreaming? I'll give it a shot if you strongly think I'll like it and won't get bored. Hopefully the trailer does not give it justice.

It has nothing to do with lucid dreaming.
Like Inception has nothing to with lucid dreaming.

It is just a movie and a wicked one at that!

Meh, i was just talking movies........

By the way... COMMANDO with Arnold Shwazenegger is the BEST MOVIE EVER. Sure it is dumb, but so WATCHABLE and ENJOYABLE!

Mulholland Drive is deep, but I still love Commando! THAT IS A GOOD MOVIE! "I let him go"! Classic!

Yeah, he let him go.... Off a cliff...

And fell into a fitful sleep
Escape to realms beyond the night
Dream can't you show me the light? "

HAGART what the hell did you just have me watch lol. Was this movie similar to the movie "Stay" in which everything was a flash of a dream before dying? This movie had me throughly confused. I liked the directing and visuals of it though.
If I'm right, you may like the movie Stay. Very similar. Watch it and let me know.

I did not check out MD after that quote.

Actual good movies: Trading places; Brewster's millions; Mr Deeds; Sarah's key (in French but still worth watching if you don't speak French). Ip Man one and two (in Chinese); Red cliff (also in Chinese and based on romance of the three kingdoms); Blade I (the rest sucked); Flesh and Blood and the Prince of foxes. Even some AS movies are much better than Commando such as: Total recall; Eraser and Kindergarten cop.

I never made you do anything. It doesn't really help lucid dreaming much, but it was almost relevant and this is the 'off topic' area. I'll look up "Stay". I never heard of it.

Some more movies that blow my mind and make me think about my existence are:

Blade Runner
Akira

And I think that me thinking about my existence and who I am all the time has turned me into a lucid dreamer over time.
