How do I stabilize a lucid dream

Postby DreamingDolan » 28 Jul 2013 21:56

Hi!
I was wondering that when I get a lucid dream how and why do I stabilize it? I have had one lucid dream so far but I didn't get a change to do anything (I became lucid in mid air, fell down, woke up). Thanks in advance :)

Put all your senses to use.
Visually focus on one thing, intensify it, and interact with it, but not for too long.
Visually intensify everything around you.
um
Touch your body
uhhh
Do a reality check
Shout out phrases like "I'm lucid" or "Clarity now" or "This is a dream" etc.
Don't get too excited.
Never underestimate the power of the ponies.

i had such a hard time with this when i first tried learning to lucid dream. what helped me is i started meditating for at least 20 minutes every day. i made a point of making sure i never missed a day. now when i dream its natural for me to do the same meditation while dreaming, even if i'm not lucid, since its habit. it also usually sparks lucid dreams. when i have a hard time stabilizing my dream i just meditate. i usually fall out of the lucid dream into another one that is much more vivid and i'm always much more clear headed. so i'd suggest adding meditation to your lucid dreaming habits if you have the time.
