Is it possible to have a fake lucid dream?

Postby Anyar » 12 Mar 2017 16:49

When I woke up today, the first thing I remembered was a dream. But the only things I remembered was me rubbing my hands together, supposedly becoming lucid, and that's it. I was repeating mental images of me rubbing my hands together and become lucid before I went to sleep, too.

I remember it in the same dream-like quality as other dreams, if not with even less detail. I'm not sure if lucid dreams are supposed to be easier to recall, or if it's just my dream recall which I'm still pretty new to.

Also worth noting is that I later suddenly remembered another dream, not lucid this time, and I remembered it in much greater detail than the first.

Was the first one a fake? Did I actually have my first lucid dream?

If you weren't aware it was a dream, even if it was a reality check, then you weren't lucid dreaming. But if you were aware, then you were lucid dreaming.

There's where I'm not sure.

My memory tells me that I became lucid, yet I remember absolutely nothing after I supposedly became lucid, and my memory of it is still sort of dream-like. I don't know if lucid dreams are supposed to be easier to remember or something.

Then you did have a lucid dream.

I've had lucid dreams before, but haven't remembered them completely as well. One of the reasons why you should keep a dream journal.

I use this website right here:
www.livejournal.com

And keep a dream journal on here. The reason why I never show it to anyone is because I have too many low probability lucid dreams, and it might upset some users on here.

Yeah, I do keep a dream journal, just with a physical journal rather than an online one.
I'd probably forget some of my dream if I have to turn on my computer first.
