Unsuccessful reality check

Postby Thorpe » 22 Apr 2017 18:55

A few nights ago, for the first time ever, I managed to perform a reality check in a dream (I know this because I remembered it upon waking up). Although, it didn't work. I attempted to poke my index finger of my right hand through the palm of my left hand, but it turned out how it would in waking life: it didn't go through. Does anyone know why or what I could do to make it successful in future? Thanks.

Perhaps you need to try a different reality check instead of trying to force a particular one to work. Or even better, choose two or three to try. One of them might work where the other failed. One that I read works excellently is to pinch your nose and try to inhale. If you can still inhale you know you're dreaming.
Wishing you pleasant days and lucid nights.
