Help! I need some!

Postby HunterClash » 08 Aug 2017 09:09

Ok, so I succeeded with wild once in my life. It was a dream I posted yesterday
I just randomly woke up at ~4:00AM and immediately I saw hypnogogia and entered the dream.

When I go to sleep in the evening 10/11am I WILD for 40 mins, and nothing happens. Anyone help?

Thanks!

lucid dreaming is spontaneous and random; but, I can appreciate effort.

Sleep is divided into different cycles. Unless you have taken a nap in the afternoon (actual sleep)
you will not have a dream cycle in the evening. This is why you find it difficult then.

Provided you go to sleep around 10:00 - 11:00 p.m.
the best time to WILD is around 4:00 a.m or 5 hours after your bedtime. Humans have a dream cycle around that period.

So in order to WILD set an alarm for around 4 or 5 am. ;)
With practice you will find the best time period for yourself individually.

Hey man, I have a problem. I am 12(as you might remember), so I can't wake up during the night with an alarm. I'll definitely wake up my parents. BUT. Tell me more please! Do you mean that napping in the day will make REM come in the evening?

Thanks NS, we appreciate you!

It all depends on your sleep cycle.

Some may find that afternoon naps are a great time to WILD, while some nap THEN WILD in the evening. Experiment with naps and see what happens. If you see no imagery after 30+ mins I advise you fall asleep.

If the nap technique is not for you you may wish to try waking without an alarm. Recite a mantra in your head (eg. I will wake up at 3:00)
It is a known fact that those who have a flight often wake just before their alarm. Plus, if you don't actually wake but DREAM your awakening, this may lead to a DILD.

On weekends, you may find it convenient to sleep in, as your dream cycle will naturally continue here. Many WILDs are attempted in the morning.

Meanwhile, DILD can be perfected to a reliable high frequency with practice. It may be a useful tool for missed WILDs.

Are you dreaming?
