Yoga Nidra

Postby Aven1895 » 03 Nov 2017 00:10

Hey everyone!

Does anyone here practice yoga nidra? Due to the concept of conscious sleeping, it should be facilitating lucid dreaming. Any experiences?

Kind regards, A.

Yoga Nidra is certainly conducive to lucid dreaming when practised after a good night sleep. I have tried it a few times and the states of relaxation achieved have an awesome potential. But the option to lucid dream is where Yoga Nidra ends and dream yoga begins.

The moment you lose awareness of your real surroundings and begin to lucidly shift through dream space you've lost it. The feeling that you are somewhere else other than lying asleep in your physical abode is where the illusorilly deceptive mode begins. Nidra is about retaining perception of both worlds along with the true proprioception of stillness.
"Empty cognizance of one taste, suffused with knowing, is your unmistaken nature, the uncontrived original state. when not altering what is, allow it to be as it is, and the awakened state is right now spontaneously present."

- Padmasambhava
