Hey

Postby IamSam7 » 16 Sep 2013 09:37

I've been really interested in lucid dreaming ever since I've learned about it a few years ago. Every now and again I even keep dream journals sometimes. I am 19 years old, and looking for a new way to engross myself with the power of my mind. I do have lucid dreams on and off, but not as often as I would like. I've even been trapped in Lucid Nightmares and false awakenings. I want to learn and understand this all better, and want to hear and share my stories and dreams. Also I'm a writer, and really hoping this will boost my skill as so, and enhance my creativity to its maximum if that's possible, some might say I already have an overly creative mind. Lol

Cool that you're a writer. I'm very new to having a clue how to LD, but I can't recommend keeping a dream journal consistently every day enough. You won't magically have LDs all the time due to it, but for me, it's really been making me recall dreams more frequently than I think I ever have in my life. The difference between now and even a month ago is jolting.

One idea I had that you may find interesting is that(once I can actually have a conscious dream about it) I intend to eventually talk to the characters in my stories I'm writing. My guess is that this could be a very effective way of accessing that specific part of my subconscious to gain insight about what direction the stories should go, what would be some good ideas for characterization, etc. Just a thought, but I'm dying to try it out.

That sounds rather brilliant. Creating and working on your characters in your stories as you Dream. I wish I had thought of that, but I'll probably have to work on Lucid Dreaming a little more before that. I still am not that experienced at Lucid Dreaming.

@ tea
Well my most recent one was sort of a mix between a Lucid Nightmare and a False awakening. The night mare part was that I was having a seizure in my sleep. I'd think I would wake up and everything seemed real and as it was when I fell asleep. But I would be unable to move, and I'd try yelling to wake someone up and alert them that I was having a seizure, and that repeated about five times before I actually was able to force myself back awake.

sounds bad... is it common for you to have seizures?

no it isn't, but I have had related dreams in the past. only a couple of times.

Yeah. I mean, it'd be one thing to merely work on it while sleeping, but to access that particular part of your subconscious by summoning your own characters and talking to them in the flesh...I almost want to say you're literally conversing with them for real, and maybe you are in this case. I'll probably need months of training, though, as currently I've never had a successful MILD/WILD and while my recall has skyrocketed in the past few weeks, I haven't had a conscious dream in about two.

I haven't had a lucid dream in the fact that I'm aware that I'm dreaming in awhile. I mean I can remember my dreams as clearly as if i was there, the problem is I did think I was there. Lol. Which in its own way is still actually really awesome until you wake up and realize its a dream, to think your actually part of what you can vision through dreaming. Like In my most recent dreams, I battled a god, I mean it was an intence battle. We destroyed the entire region we were in, and even brought the battle into the atmoshpere. I was like some kinda superhuman. And later on I dream't that I was a Jedi battling Sith. In its own way that is still pretty amazing to dream so vividly that you believe what your dreaming. But yeah I think I still need lots of training before I could be aware of the fact that I am in a dream and create through that.
