Hotel chain commercials remind me of lucid dreams

Postby lucidinthe sky » 05 Oct 2013 04:18

I saw a commercial today for a hotel chain called Springhill Suites that reminds me of lucid dreams. The videos are available on Youtube. One starts off with a business man walking on a subway platform. He gets on the subway train and immediately has a surprised look on his face. That's because the inside of the train looks like a living room, except of course you can still see that it's a train. But the seats do have an unusual pattern and colors. The narrator says "What if everywhere you went, you experienced so much more than you expected?" (That's such a good description of my LDs I immediately took notice when I heard that) Then a guy who's reading his newspaper looks up at him and gives him this nod and little smirk as if to say, "That's right, you know what's going on, don't you. I know." Next thing Mr. Business Man knows, the scene has changed and he is approaching his cubicle. At this point he should be asking "wait a minute, how did I get here?" But after one look inside, he pops his head back out to recheck his name on the cubicle. Seems like he's starting to get it, finally does a reality check. If he had looked closely he might have noticed the spelling had changed. Then we get to see what he sees inside. Again it's decorated with things you find in someone's living room, but really looks more like a nice hotel room. In any case, he should be getting the message by now "This is NOT your cubicle, hello! It's a DREAM!" In another he gets into a elevator and inside there is a nice couch and chairs, table and lamp, etc. Now how many elevators have that? Then an attractive woman seated in one of the nice chairs looks up from her I-pad and smiles at him. She's one of those DCs who is trying to help him. I'm not sure if he ever got lucid, but I love the idea about experiencing so much more than I expect from LDs. They always surprise me with their intensity and realism.
Have you ever had a dream, Neo, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world? Morpheus

Lucid dreaming notes:

Do reality checks 10 times per day √

Set alarm clock for 5 hours of sleep √

Look for new dream sign: Every room looks like a hotel room √

Do reality check whenever I wake up in a hotel room √
