WAKING LIFE: The Movie.

Postby HAGART » 25 Mar 2014 09:14

I watched this movie twice now in two days. I'm a bit obsessed.

But this is me and everything I was trying to say this whole time.

Can't recommend it enough. It's related to lucid dreaming and living life lucid, and let's talk!

Here's a free version:

(EDIT: This link doesn't work anymore... shucks! Gotta find it some other way. I'm bummed out!)

Kudos to Tilly Pink for recommending it. I know I'm not the first one to enjoy it. It's over ten years old, but it's good in any era. It just speaks to me as it should to anyone anytime, and I can't praise it enough.

I still have this film on my shelf. It is certainly one of those films that will whet your philosophical juices. It's a classic! It explores a lot of questions and the sense of mystery is orgasmic. I recommend it. It made me want to lucid dream more. B-)

There's so many great quotes. Too many to list.

One thing I picked up on in my second viewing was, who is the main character always trying to call? I think he's trying to call his waking self... but there's nobody home.

Another thing I'll mention is that I didn't watch it all the way through non-stop. So don't feel like you have to either. I took little breaks here and there between scenes and went back to it. It's one of those kind of movies. No discernible plot; It's a bunch of short vignettes. But dreams themselves are like that, and this movie is self aware of that.

Yes we must thank Tilly Pink. It is a movie which in my opinion must be seen bit by bit and again to penetrate deep. For me to start it strengthen my belief that reoccurrence as it is commonly assumed is a Dream wish. ( Des Menschen Wille ist sein Himmelreich ) The persons will is his heaven. Hence that many high ranking persons in peoples former lives. I tried to find out who I was in a former life, and had the feeling that during the hypnosis a former life started to become acceptable, I had the feeling yes but it might be wishful dreaming. It is hard for me to explain it. To me I was certain that this reoccurrence picture was wishful dreaming. I am sure many dreamers will not agree, as the former life seems so real. I am a doubting Thomas and for me I have now this life to live, and will try understand Waking and Dreaming life :)

PS:I like the Question: Which is the most universal human characteristic. Fear.......or Laziness?

Which is the most universal human characteristic. Fear.......or Laziness?

I thought of this a lot in the past few weeks.
I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B.

No doubt fear stops us (the individual), and to a larger extent, society (a collection of individuals), from reaching its fullest potential, but we also get very comfortable with who we are, and the world we live in, and don't want to change.

Maybe we're just too lazy to deal with the fear of change.

I watched this movie again for the 3rd time and saw more in it. I was just planning to watch a few scenes, but ended up watching the whole thing (taking breaks here and there). For any fans out there, watch the scene where the guy set's himself on fire after declaring, "Let my own lack of a voice be heard".

For a split second, just a frame, his face becomes more realistic like a photograph and not rotoscoped. It's so small and hard to notice, but ,hey, aren't we all ants living as drones and most don't notice the small details? But I do. ;)

Here's a clip of that scene, so you don't have to watch the whole movie.

(I watched it again several times and it's so hard to notice, but for a single frame his face changes just as he lights himself up).

I got a lot more out of it too, but found that particular moment interesting. I admit this is perhaps just an excuse to bump the thread, I know, but awesome movie, and highly recommend it.

Putlocker was closed down. http://torrentfreak.com/putlocker-bz-loses-domain-name-moves-safe-haven-iceland-140604/[/blue]. The new domain is in Iceland (the only free country on our planet besides Russia and Iran). Here [color=blue]http://putlocker.is/

Be warned if you go to this site they throw a lot of porn ads at one and some of the films are pure porn, so definately not a Family Friendly site.

The link still works and redirects it.

Yesterday, all I got was a sexy ad for a game (which is harmless), but I tried it again today to see what would happen. Out of nowhere a screen popped up with two women in bed with a webcam who I thought were talking to me! (They weren't naked), but it freaked me out and I quickly closed it down. I don't know if they could see me or not, or if it's just prerecorded, or what the point of it was.... I didn't stick around to find out.

SO I agree. Users beware. (I don't remember it being like that when I used it a few months ago).
