I might be posting in the wrong area.

Postby nawick » 08 Aug 2014 13:46

Hello! Perhaps this should be in the Questions area?
I usually stay away from boards and forums because I was a born trollmagnet.
But something is happening lately that is so intriguing I came looking for answers.
My normal sleep schedule has been 1:00am to 7:45 am.
In the last two weeks each morning from 5:30 to 7:45, I have had 4 to 6 full dream sequences.
I know the time because I wake up and look at the clock between every one.
Every morning the times are different, but for example
I wake up and it's 5:30. I dream and wake up and its
5:49 Dream. Wake up
6:17 Dream. Wake UP
6:44 dream. wake up.
7:13 and my mental state changes and I cant do it again. I WANT to do it again.
It is Fantastic. In the last 2 hours of sleep I get more sleep then all night.
Except that I dont want to get up, I want to keep doing dream sequences.
But I have to get up for work anyway.
So how do I expand on what is happening and chage it so that I have 2 to 4 dreams
every hour ALL NIGHT LONG?
Does this type of cycle have a name?
Anyone else have this happening?
Thanks for any Info!

Oh yeah, introduction.

Hopefully it will come back.

Hey welcome to the forum! :)

Sounds like the sleep cycle to me ;) the longer you sleep, the longer your REM periods get ie. your dreaming periods extend which is probably why your dreams are so vivid and numerous just before you get up!
I'm a bit like this if I'm having a lie in and I agree it is awesome :D

I thought sleep cycles were 90 minutes. I didnt realize you could have 8 of them in 2 hours.
If it ever comes back, I'll let you know.

This is true! By the end REM is at its peak but 8 sleep cycles in 2 hours does suggest its something else. Dunno then, I know what you mean though, I have had days where I seem to wake up every half an hour before plunging straight back into a dream!

Yeah, it's GREAT isn't it!

I wonder if people dream in induced commas.
