Am I a Lucid Dreamer?

Postby TC62 » 30 Jun 2012 01:37

For a long time, I have been aware of my dreams and to some point able to control them. Each dream is different and my control varies. Am I having Lucid Dreams?

In my opinion, "control" of a dream is a secondary characteristic to being consciously aware in the dream.

Lucid dreaming is simply, at a very basic level, just being aware that you're dreaming. If you KNEW you were dreaming, then you were lucid dreaming. If you didn't know you were dreaming you were not lucid dreaming.

With each case (lucid or not lucid) you can have "control" over the experience.
So control doesn't denote lucidity. Awareness is the key. :)

And to me, a dream, lucid dream and astral projection/obe are all the same "kind" of experience. What differs between them is how consciously aware you are during them.
