Hi, I'm new to lucid dreaming, and I really want to give it a go and make it a 'normal' part of my life, but you see, I'm a real scaredy cat, and I've been randomly plagued by nightmares before. I guess the question is, can nightmares affect lucid dream beginners who can't control much of anything yet? I'm freaked out that something will go wrong and I'll end up in an all to real nightmare. ><

Nightmares are fear based reactions.

I haven't had a nightmare in many years (15+, at least).
You can use your projections (lucid dreams) as a mean to beat your fears.
There's nothing to be afraid of. :)
