  • Preconscious Processing - which gives access to the vast capacity of the mind to accomplish virtually anything
The Dream Play CD by Paul Scheele

Neurologists tell us that the human brain is more powerful than any computer on Earth. Paul Scheele claims to offer the tools that tap into that power, to make a real difference to your life.

I found one particular CD of his called Dream Play during my early quest for lucid dreams. This article is about my experience with the Learning Strategies system and how the Dream Play CD can help you with remembering dreams and to program your dreams for lucid dreaming.

Program Your Dreams

Let's start with some background info from the Learning Strategies website. Paul Scheele says that Dream Play will help you become more conscious of your dreams, while you are dreaming. It is then easier to become lucid and fully engage the conscious brain for vivid dream control.

Go Skiing in Your Lucid Dreams!

If you are a Star Trek fan, your bed can become your own Holodeck for any exotic adventure. Do you ski? Then program yourself to dream about taking ski lessons and skiing perfectly and effortlessly in your dreams. If you are like other paraliminal fans, you will ski better as a result.

Learning Strategies also points out that dreams help musicians to learn a new piece of music. When they dream about the piece, it becomes memorized. This frees the musician to concentrate on playing - not on the sheet music. Other lucid dreamers have composed speeches, sermons, articles and papers in their dreams. When this happens to you, wake up and take notes!

Dreams can be a source of tremendous personal wealth. Through dreams you can gain access to inner strength, inspiration and creative genius. Explore your vast, uncharted dreamworld to discover how dreams can work for you. Use dreams to solve problems, rehearse activities, improve productivity, gain insight, integrate personal changes and make sense of our complex universe.

Paraliminals vs Subliminals

The Dream Play CD is a mixture of paraliminals and hypnosis. If you aren't familiar with Learning Strategies, paraliminals are their answer to subliminal messaging (voices disguised by music and sound effects).

For subliminals to work, you have to be in a relaxed state and listen to the messages repeatedly for 30-60 days. They can also send out the wrong messages which are harmful. For instance, one subliminal tape used to say "if you don't quit smoking, you will get cancer". This is terrible because it is a direct instruction to "get cancer", whether you quit smoking or not.

On the other hand, paraliminals are spoken instructions that are not disguised in any way. You can consciously hear every word and are much more aware of the messages. What's more, you don't have to listen to the voices - just enjoy the flow and rhythm. Because this method is more powerful, you don't need to listen to paraliminals non-stop to get a result.

The Dream Play CD

This Learning Strategies CD is split into two paraliminal hypnosis sessions:

Session A (19 mins) - will program your dreaming mind to access problem solving, intuition and decision making skills. With the help of relaxing music and sound effects, Paul Scheele guides you into a deep meditation and gives your subconscious mind instructions for how to program your dreams.

Program Your Dreams for a Tropical ParadiseSession B (18 mins) - will help you with remembering dreams and increase the lucidity of your dreams. Once again, you are taken into a controlled hypnosis state and receive separate instructions, one line at a time, to each hemisphere of your brain. This forges deep concentration which keeps your mind alert while your body falls asleep. Finally, the voices converge and you are given subconscious mental cues to help recognize when you are dreaming.

At the end of each session you are given a choice to remain in your state of light sleep and dreaming, or to slowly return to full consciousness.

Dream Play FAQ

What if I don't dream?

Everyone dreams every night - but you may not always remember it. People who listen to Dream Play begin remembering dreams right away. Start a dream journal because you will soon need it. As you listen to the CD, you will become better and better at programming, directing and remembering dreams.

Are dreams more important than getting rest?

Dreaming does not detract from a good night's sleep. In some cases, it actually enhances it. Besides, it is your body that needs rest, not your mind.

What if my life is too busy to start living in my dreams as well?

You can program your mind to take fantasy trips, visit people you want to spend more time with, try out different foods, and encounter all kinds of deep relaxation. There are many refreshing adventures waiting in your dreams - and they are not at all tiring or stressful like real life can be!

What other tips will help me remember my dreams?

Before sleeping, drink a glass of water and say "I will remember my dreams". Plus, whenever you wake during sleep, you first thought should be, "what was I just dreaming about?" Lie still and remember the striking elements of the dream. Remain awake for several minutes. Freely think about what the dream could mean. This fixes the dream in your memory and lets you tap into the larger meaning of the dream. You may want to jot notes on paper to help stimulate more recall.

Remebering Dreams and How To Program Your DreamsIt is best to wake up from a full sleep naturally without a disruptive alarm or radio. Reflect inwardly to allow dream feelings or images to surface. Remain wrapped in the afterglow of the dream experience.

You can buy Dream Play for $29.95 at the Learning Strategies website. In my view, this is an effective hypnosis CD that can have profound effects on your dream life. Paul Scheele is a trusted expert at the Learning Strategies Corporation and his techniques can really help your quest to remember and program your dreams for lucidity.
