Escaping From Nightmares

All evil is like a nightmare; the instant
you stir under it, the evil is gone.

I think I wake up. I see my friend who is sleeping on the floor and I think I'm awake. Out of know were some crash test dummies (that I'm really afraid of in real life) pop out of my closet and start to beat me up. I try to fight back but they keep coming at me. They put a gun to my head and at this point I know I'm going to die. I hear the gun go off, I wake up crying and scared. I don't open my eyes, I turn over and put my head in my pillow hoping that there not there. I soon fall back asleep and wake up a few hours later.

I am running around an old, dark house. I have a class of young children with me who I must protect. We are being chased by an ugly male creature with long fingernails and gray skin. Every time he catches up with us, he smiles at me and I sense he is about to do something terrible. Another child goes missing.

I keep running away with the children. The walls keep moving, creating small hiding places for us, but I know the monster will catch up with us. Every time I think of him chasing us he appears in the hallway.

The nightmare continues. I am down to four children now, we are hiding under the bed. The monster has lost us... for now. Then I realize it is morning, and light is streaming in. I climb out and dust myself down. I realize the monster can't come out in daylight... and then... that I'm dreaming! It was all a bad dream!

I move into a bright room and there he is, standing awkwardly, like he is embarassed about the whole thing. I realize I have absolutely nothing to fear - plus, I'm inside a lucid dream! I float through the big window, laughing at him and his stupid chasing game and he looks ashamed. He doesn't even attempt to follow me this time. I float out into the sunlight and begin my lucid adventure.

I'm studying with the University of Metaphysical Sciences and love to learn about stuff like this. I've been able to lucid dream since childhood. I learned how to do it to change nightmares into something better. I started by going back to sleep thinking about the nightmare and imagining being back in the dream and what I'd do, and then I'd be asleep but lucid. It was really cool. Lucid dreaming, astral projection, remote viewing, are all very interesting subjects to me.

I heard that in a nightmare if you spin around in a circle a lot you'll find it easier to escape or change it. Try it. Or confront the nightmare, go up to it and yell at it, tell it to pi** off. I did this, and both times the nightmare was in some sort of jail or locked in a cell in my other dreams.

In my nightmare I was standing in our living room with my parents and a few other people. We were being held hostage by a gang of intelligent wolves - it was terrifying!

The wolves wore uniforms, walked on two legs and spoke to each other in plain English. They had guns and knives. Every now and then one of them would stick the knife in my side and twist it so that it really hurt.

When they were distracted, I managed to sneak out of the room to go get help. The act of escaping brought relief and it occured to me that none of it had been real. I became half-lucid, and before I realized what I was doing, I was shouting 'WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!' The nightmare was over in a second.
