Re: Antinatalism: An Insightful Argument

Ok, I'm a little deeper in with my research! As I understand, David Benatar's argument hinges on the Asymmetry Between Pain and Pleasure: To exist means... presence of pain = bad presence of pleasure = good To not exist means... absence of pain = good absence of pleasure = neutral/zero I disagree wi...

Re: Antinatalism: An Insightful Argument

Woah, so much to examine here :P Obviously I can only speak with any conviction on my existing stance - and go do some reading on antinatalism etc. I'm very interested in philosophy, particularly philosophy of the self, and antinatalism stirs up questions being a parent but dont worry I'm not interp...

Re: Antinatalism: An Insightful Argument

Thanks for responding to my questions. I'm starting to get a better feel for your stance. Haven't looked at the video or links yet as time is short - but I did want to put my initial thoughts down. I have heard of someone talking like this before on a personal development forum. He was very depresse...

Re: Antinatalism: An Insightful Argument

This is the first I've heard of antinatalism and I don't think I've considered it enough to 'get it' yet. From what I've taken in here, it raises a couple of questions/thoughts. Can you guys shed some light for me? Life as a complete bundle is biology, not philosophy. Once we take into acount all th...

Re: the Claridream Pro thread

Also I am curious if Rebecca is still involved with our Website? Who Knows :) Hey, yo, I still exist! :D I'm here in the background and following WOLD - but after working intensively on the site for 8 years I needed to work on something new. So I handed over the management and editorial to Chris Ha...

Re: What is this?

Shynia's got it. This is sleep paralysis, and the movement you experience is a dream under its influence. You're conscious while dreaming, so close to a lucid dream, but with fearful overtones because you can't quite rationalise or makes sense of what's happening. My advice is to focus on your breat...

Take Part in a University Study on Lucid Dreams

Researchers from the University of Sheffield are looking for participants to take part in a study on the link between lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis. They said: "We’re especially interested in people’s experiences of lucid dreaming (being aware when dreaming) and sleep paralysis (waking up ...

Re: Lucid dream sex issue?

Some excellent points here. I'd just add, when you feel you're lacking control, do two things: 1. Heighten your lucidity by rubbing your hands together, say out loud "I"m dreaming", focus on your hands, and cement the absolute knowledge that you exist in the dream right now. 2. Say yo...

Are your lucid dreams tiring?

I get this question a lot from beginners. My personal answer is hell no, it's an adrenaline buzz. I feel on top of the world after a lucid dream. But what about you? Do you wake up feeling physically or mentally drained? Let's take a poll. It's worth noting below if you're a "perma-lucid dreame...

Re: Any writers here?

Nice to get a feel for the other writers here. Well done for sharing your poetry DesertExplorer, that takes guts. And in another language too - much respect. I realised just recently, writing is a huge part of who I am. It's not just my job. The more I write, the more I get to express my real self, ...
