Re: Dream "Fabric"
basically the machine elves run the show behind the scenes, making sure everything works Interesting. That reminds me of what Robert Waggoner writes in his book about how the lucid dreamer doesn't really control the dream itself. There are involuntary (external?) processes that continue to happen b...

Re: What to do in a LD / how to remember what to do
Nocturnal, Since you were doing RCs, walked through a wall to get out of your "room", flew around, it sounds to me like that was a full-on LD (not sure what "autonomously dreaming" is--maybe dreaming about being lucid?). I've experienced that odd type of "boredom" mysel...

Re: Dream "Fabric"
have you come across the green elves of hyper space ala Terence McKenna? I only see the green elves when I've been over-indulging on absinth! Hm, read McKenna years ago...The Archaic Revolution??? Was that the title? Don't remember any mention of elves (maybe a different book of his...) Anyway, are...

Dream "Fabric"
Thought I'd share something that happened last night in an LD. I became lucid after recognizing a dreamsign (didn't need to do an RC) and started flying around over the ocean at night along the California coast. It was a blast flying around, but after a while I realized I wanted to go somewhere else...

Re: Reality Checks and Dream Signs
Any thoughts on how to get your "conscious" mind (while sleeping) to recognize the dream signs I am seeing in my subconscious? Rothgar, Well, first, I think your assessment of RC/DS is valid. Yep, that's what we're basically trying to do--bridge that gap between waking and sleeping by wor...

Re: RC failed?
Happened to me too just last night. Repeated finger pokes through the hand didn't work--just as solid as waking reality. Luckily something kept telling me I was dreaming, though, so I kept trying. Finally switched gears and tried floating--sure enough I found myself flying, and the "Aha" m...

Re: Forgetting Lucid Dreams?
Rothgar, Interesting topic that presents quite a philosophical conundrum regarding memory in general. First, though, I think we have to distinguish between two different types of memory lapses here. The first would be where after waking you do remember becoming lucid but don't remember what you did ...

Re: Dreams about performances?
Just happened to see this thread from a little while ago and thought I'd pick up on it. Really interesting topic! I'm a part-time professional guitarist, have been for years, and I often have dreams about preparing for some performance or jam session--but I never end up actually playing. The entire ...

Re: First lucid dream!
"And so I am in a park and realize I am dreaming. Wow--fantastic! It sounds like you might have actually had a Dream Induced Lucid Dream (DILD) since you realized you were dreaming at one point in the dream. Did it feel like you just sort of stepped into the dream consciously? If so, then, yes...
