Re: Failed passing through a wall

Sometimes going through walls is more difficult for me, too. I read that the easiest way is to just turn around and push backward without thinking about it too much. Just focus on pushing.

Re: The Stupidest Ways You've Missed Becoming Lucid

My dumbest way was to actually recognize that my current dream was a dream and to then not remember why I should care. It was a recurring dream and I knew what kinds of things were going to happen next because I recognized which dream I was having.

Re: Lack of visualisation control

If you want to spend more time with it, take 100 steps instead of 10. That way you can still go quickly and relax a little more on each step and take your time with it. If 100 steps aren't enough, you can go to 200 or 250 - but I think that saying the numbers will slow you down. It is better to adap...

Re: calling it quits: LD leads to horrible insomia

Sleep is good. I value it even when my dreams are not lucid, and often the biggest obstacle to lucidity is that I'm too busy participating in my dream to want to change it. I frequently recognize that I'm having one of my usual dreams and all I do about it is quickly check to see which variation I'm...

Re: Opinions on contradictory advice

The Jhana condition in Theravada Buddhism involves having the body remain in the "desire realm" while the mind shifts to the world "of pure form". It is a sort of projection experience because the body is perceived as dropping away. It tends to be a very complete and convincing e...

Re: Opinions on contradictory advice

Consciously experiencing sleep paralysis means that the body is asleep while the mind is awake. That is a useful condition because it can go in more than one direction. Astral projection, wake induced lucid dreams (WILD), and meditation are all options. Generally speaking, it is better to actively d...

Re: I need help to not increase tolerance to not wake up on

One of the uses for self-hypnosis is practicing for situations that cause problems for you. You can use lucid dreaming for the same purpose, but because self-hypnosis is something that you can do without the same risk of waking yourself up you may have better luck with it. I used to be afraid of lea...

Re: A Question About Sedatives and Meditation...

There's nothing wrong with taking prescription medication. If I had insurance I'd take propranolol for my blood pressure. It's just that some prescriptions have side effects that will help with your dreaming and propranolol is one of them. Melatonin is good, too, but when I take it I tend to develop...

Re: A Question About Sedatives and Meditation...

How do you feel about switching to propranolol? It is a beta blocker and it is used as a blood pressure medication, but it is also given for stage fright. Since you are taking it as a PRN, you could start out with a prescription for both an experiment to see which helps more in social settings. And ...
