Re: The hypnagogia

Not everyone gets hypnagogia. I think most everyone does. Skipping the hypnogogic stage produces an OBE scenario. Usually you hypnogogics act as a seed for the dream to form around. WHen you skip the HI phase, the dream seed defaults to the last thing you were aware of, and recreates your room. In ...

Re: Why do dream people hate me

I got mugged a few years back, and that haunted my dreams for years afterwards. My dreams were chock full of goons.

Re: How to make the transition from hypnagogia to LD.

Cusp - do you think that putting attention to the HI is the key or just observing and losing attention to the sensory impute that makes daily reality. I think it's kind of the same thing, only a different perspective. We have a limited amount of attention. Losing focus on the waking world frees up ...

Re: Limited control in a lucid dream?

The only thing you really control in a dream is your focused attention, and the dream responds to that. First rule of dream control is everything requires your attention to exist. You only feel pain if you focus on your injuries. I've had tons of dreams where my flesh was hanging off me in tatters, ...

Re: Fighting in a lucid dream?

The three main sources of guilt free violence in dreams are Robots, Zombies, and Nazis. If you want something to fight in your dreams, get mad. Generate as much rage as you can. It will change everything in your dream scene, especially the behavior of your dream characters. They will get angry and b...

Re: Preprogramming LD's

Sounds like you're talking about dream incubation, which gets a bum rap in lucid dreaming circles in my opinion. This has been the main source of practice in dreams for me. The only downside is it seems to produce only a semi-lucidity for me. Not fully lucid, but just enough to stay focused on my go...

Re: How to make the transition from hypnagogia to LD.

Falling asleep is a transfer of awareness from one container (the waking world) to another container (the dream world). Everything requires your attention to exist, so in order to create a dream world, you need to take attention away from the waking world, and place in the dream space. This transfer...

Re: Lucid Issues

With a great deal of effort I feel for my one reference point. Good instincts. That's the solution to all your control problems. The dream forms around your focused attention. The trick to control is to choose your reference points. Habitually, attention is largely directed visually, but you can us...

Re: MY SECRET TO LUCID DREAMING

The dream always builds around your focused attention. If you can hold that attention as you're falling asleep, lucidity is yours. Easier said than done though.
