Re: Am I getting closer?

well its a good thing you have good dream recall! but i wouldn't worry too much about whether you're almost there or not. in my experience with meditation and lucid dreaming its better to just try to be a little bit better today than you were yesterday. sometimes it feels like you're getting worse n...

Re: Weak Hypnagogia and Madness

for question #1, i don't think you should worry about the need for the hypnagogia to intensify. the only thing you need hypnagogia for is to keep your mind focused on something while you go into a deeper and deeper state. just stay relaxed and keep doing what you're doing is my best advice.

Re: Possible to have a more clear view?

Just had one of those truly amazing LDs this morning. I am still thinking about it, all day today. It was just so completely unbelievable, half the time I was really wondering if I was somehow awake, but didn't know it. Seriously wondering. Dreams can really be just exactly like being awake. Leaves...

Re: Just questions. Please help me! ^-^

haha don't worry about it, just keep practicing and you'll be able to accomplish anything you want in a dream. however i would say that what you want may change, don't be afraid of that.

Re: Actual lucid dreams?

That is because quieting the mind is unnecessary and often counter productive. Its much easier and is much more effective to learn to watch the chatter of the mind without influencing it. i see this in a different way. isn't trying to quiet the mind another form of conscious influence? i would say ...

Re: what do we mean by "trying too hard?"

so i have a question. if trying harder doesn't put you in the state of mind you're trying to reach, then does that mean you're simply trying to do something you don't have conscious control of? in that way we need our unconscious mind to take over for those things. so what is the point of lucid drea...

Re: Actual lucid dreams?

perhaps we're missing the point. lets say we're actually dreaming right now and what we think of dreaming is actually waking reality. what would you do in order to wake up? "reality check" would take on a new meaning.

Re: Techniques to realize I'm dreaming when dreaming

Pretty much. I'm saying that when you are playing a video game, the story of the game has trapped your full attention, but if you were to stop and bring your attention into your awareness instead (explicitly observe what is happening with your attention), you break the spell of the story. This free...

Re: what do we mean by "trying too hard?"

I'm guilty of that. But I think I have always followed it by stating: you are too conscious of it and that kicks you out and you wake up. You must 'let go' in order for it to happen. It was like you were 'trying too hard consciously'. It's like trying to go to sleep saying to yourself, "Am I a...

what do we mean by "trying too hard?"

Often I read a forum where somebody asks for help having a lucid dream. it seems like they do all the things that this site tells you to have a lucid dream every day but still aren't succeeding. the most common thing i hear is that the person is trying too hard. it does seem to be true, but i don't ...
