That lucid dream from American Dad was funny.
But I still find the one from I Wet Your Mother in the Simpsons Way more clever with the lucid dream jokes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNDj2oygXGc There is an atheist joke they stuck in that lucid dream episode when Homer summoned a lawn mower to run over Ned Flanders. Although my personal favorite part of that episode I cannot seem to find on Youtube. It's when Homer and Marge at the very end of the episode based off the movie "Inception" decide to do a reality check and spin a top saying if it keeps spinning, they are in a dream. Because it keeps spinning, they decide to ride their bikes naked in a hailstorm around their neighborhood. Homer was seen in an earlier episode becoming aware of his dream in a chocolate town, but then waking up very soon after that. I am assuming for many seasons, he has been working on lucid dreaming.
Many video game fans don't seem to understand dreaming in the games. For example, the lucid dreaming in Link's Awakening is very obvious to me, but not so much to the other players. Link knows 2/3 of the way through the game he is in a mutual dream with the wind fish and when he wakes up, everything he is currently seeing will be nothing more than a memory. It may feel sad for many players who don't understand lucid dreaming completely, but I can understand how hard it is to have to give up a really awesome lucid dream, especially with characters you have even given names and personalities to, knowing once you wake up, the idea probably won't return. Link's Awakening's ending isn't really sad because all the characters are dying at the end, it is sad because Link knows he has to wake up from his coma and return to the real world. To me, Link's Awakening ending is bittersweet, because it reminds me of what it feels like to wake up from a lucid dream. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBqkLx4AMrg
