need to learn

My name is Max, I've had the idea of lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember. Have made several attempts at learning how to program my mind to control my dreams, but never really put forth the effort to make it happen. I have had a "flying dream" years ago & I remember the dream like it was yesterday, I drive by the actual location it took place in my dream sometimes on my way home from work. Really would like to learn to lucid dream at will - program my dreams-, if you will. I'll be mostly reading other posts/reply's because I'm sure the questions I have have been asked a million times, but if anyone has any ideas or advice please feel free to let me know.
