Hi. So I'm a beginner (obviously). I recently discovered lucid dreaming when a friend of mine introduced me to the book 'The Complete Book of Dreams and Dreaming' where lucid dreaming was mentioned. So I googled lucid dreaming and found this website. I'm just wondering if anyone could give me a few tips.
Also, the other night I was practicing the MILD technique. I had just finished repeating some lucid affirmations so I moved on to visualizing a past dream of mine. I was beginning to fall asleep. I'm not sure what I was dreaming of, I just remember ordering someone to give something to me and snapping my fingers. The thing is, when I dreamt I snapped my fingers, I actually snapped my fingers. This woke me straight up. Is that normal?
Also, I've been working on remembering my dreams. I read Rebecca's article on how to remember your dreams and I've been waking myself up at night. The problem is, when I wake up, I'm so sleep I just plummet straight back to sleep. Also, I usually don't even remember what I dreamt of. It is not until the morning when I wake up and begin writing down the dream I recently had, do the other dreams I had through the night begin to come back to me. Is that normal?
One last thing. I've been practicing reality checks throughout the days and I notice I am not putting real feeling when I ask myself if this is all real or if I am dreaming or not. Any suggestions on how to be a better reality checker?
