I need help/motivation

Postby Username11 » 01 Mar 2018 12:41

Hello dear forum!

I will not waste your time by describing details.
Problem: my first lucid dream was horrible and now this fact stops me from going on.
In fact the dream wasn't so terrible, but I was reaaly scared :D . I was at home alone, got LD, come to the window in my room(in the lucid dream), and felt that somebody touched my back. Fuck, it was my first LD and such imposible things really scare me.
I have already give up going further in lucid dreaming, but may be you can help me to overcome this obstacle?

You do realize, that when you are lucid you can do anything you want right? I know it may seem extremely vivid and real, but just remember that it is only a dream and nothing can hurt you. Especially when your lucid. If your in another scary situation like that in your lucid dreams, then I would suggest thinking of something funny, or expecting it to go away. Or you can even have some fun and try fighting it yourself. Just remember, that when you're in a lucid dream, you can choose whether or not you want it to be scary. It's all based on your expectations! Hope this helps.

I think it is fairly common for dreamers to encounter, and perhaps be touched by, a mysterious visitor during, either the transitional period of sleep paralysis, or during lucid or non-lucid dreams.

I recommend -
Website - Dream Studies Portal/Lucid Dreaming and Consciousness Research - dreamstudies.org
This is hosted by Ryan Hurd
- Click tab - "Sleep Paralysis" - Includes about 20 interesting articles - Such as -
"The Veil Is Thin: When Spirits Show Up In Sleep Paralysis Visions"

- Also - This is my favorite book about lucid dreaming -
"Lucid Dreaming: Gateway To The Inner Self" - by Robert Waggoner

CatDreamer22, thank you for your advices. I like this way of thinking that everything in my hands, at least I'm a man right?! :x :D And there should be nothing that makes me fear :x

jasmine2, thank you for your reply. I find this links very useful and interesting, especially info about healing in sp.

Articles about sleep paralysis reminded me, that even now I don't know for sure, whether it was lucid dream or SP. Please, help me figure it out.

I started exploring lucid dreams from Stephen Laberge's book and discovered lots of techniques. Tried some of them and "inspire myself"(when you believe that now you will get LD for sure) was the most successful for me. As I wrote, I was at home alone, told myself that now I'm gonna succeed and now the dream itself: (all written below belongs to dream, not real life)
I woke up from the fact, that something pulled me out from my body and I found myself in the darkness, but in a few seconds I was pushed back with force(inside my body) and now I found my self in already sitting position. I stood up and felt a very strong pressure, but I didn't pay much attention to that. I came to the window and, as you already know, something touched my back. I was scared, didn't turn around and flew out of the room. In a few seconds I finally woke up.
This dream is different from others, because in usual dreams I just realize that I am sleeping, when it is already going, not from the very beginning. But it is also different from SP, because i was not paralyzed and could move. There wasn't any scary sounds or noises, I didn't feel any presence. I'm a bit confused about what it really was.
