Neep Help

Postby WaylonTurner98 » 13 May 2018 23:11

Last night, I had just laid down to sleep. I had only been asleep for a few minutes but it was enough to have a dream. the dream started off normal, with me seeing my MawMaw (passed away in Dec 2013) and my PawPaw (passed away Dec 2016). We were sitting at a dinner table. my MawMaw told me that they had to go. I looked at my MawMaw and hugged her. I then stood up and looked my PawPaw, who seemed to not want to look at me, but I caught him looking at me. It was then that the dream focused and I started being Lucid. I started saying "PawPaw, You looked at me, I saw you." I then saw my left arm start to raise up trying to reach for him in which he turned away from me. I then heard myself say softly, "I'm dreaming" and then I woke up right after.

I worried cause this is my second dream I've had of my PawPaw where it seems he is avoiding me and just wont talk to me. This is only the 2nd time I've seen my MawMaw in a dream since she passed, everything seems okay with me and her, the first dream was her coming and "saving me from drowning" which was the dream metaphor of me being really stressed from life and school. In this dream i hugged her which I looked up means that I was accepting something, which I figure means that i'm not longer stressed about life right now. This is the first lucid dream I've had in over a year. But every time I see a passed Relative, I always know i'm dreaming but I haven't had a dream where I acknowledged the dream in over a year.

If someone could help me figure out what is happening that would be great!

Hello WaylonTurner98.

I'm not sure how I can help. It sounds like you had a dream where you were with your grandparents, who passed away. Seeing your grandparents, who you know died, you realized that you were dreaming.

Dreams are often driven by your subconscious (conscious if you are lucid) expectations. The people in your dream will act/react to your expectations. So, for some reason you had a subconscious expectation that your grandfather would turn away, so that is what happened.

Did you have a more detailed question?

Hi WaylonTurner98! It sounds like you're in the right place. I would say just keep dream journaling. each time you wake up try to remember the dream and then record it. And just trust in the process. I think your interpretation of things was probably the best one you will get. It's good that you're getting lucid during dreams like this. Maybe it was your relatives in spirit, wanting to comfort you, and if that's the case it seems like you received that.
Here is a link to my dream journal if you want to know what I am up to in the dream world! :)
