Help Trying to "WILD"

Last night I tried the WILD technique for lucid dreaming. I was doing everything right, until I felt my body shutting down. My heart beat really fast and I started to twitch. And that's how my first try at WILD ended. Granted I tried it right when I went to bed, not 6 hours later. What's the reason for waiting 6 hours? And why when I wake up, must I stay awake for 20 min? Suggestions?

I believe you were entering SP (sleep paralysis). The reason for waiting 6 hours is so that you'll most likely interrupt your REM so when you go back to sleep you'll have a greater chance to LD.

And also , u gotta have a peaceful mind to perform WILD quickly. 6 hours sleep calms ur mind down. and thats the main reason about 6 hours of sleep b4 WILD.
