And without any reminder and i have NEVER!!!!! done a one in a dream from this habit. it will not carry over. I write down every stinking dream i can remember (1-3 a night) and even write a note that id didn't remember anything when i don't. Ive recently started meditating.
Whats more, i know my dream sign, its my brother. but i still see him and keep carrying on like he's not literally more than 1000 miles away in the physical world... what is wrong with me? how do i remember he's my dream sign? how do i get my habit to carry over into dream land?
why can't i lucid dream..? (((
As I understand it, two months is nothing. For some folks it's easy and for other folks it takes time. I have them almost every night (and I'm a novice) but some experienced and dedicated lucid dreamers still may only have two or three a month or less.
My advice is to keep on with what yr doing for at least another month, maybe see if you can't identify some other dream signs.
Keep practicing yr meditation (but don't beat yrself up if your mind wanders cause that's what minds do), even just five minutes a day of breath awareness.
Read widely on the topic but don't get too carried away trying a dozen different techniques, the best advice I received was to focus on one or two (like you have been) and give them a good three months before perhaps trying something different.
I recommend Waggoner an McCready's book 'Lucid Dreaming - Plain and Simple'. Also the sister site to this one 'World of Lucid Dreaming .com' has great articles, consise and clear.
And try to relax! Getting too hung up on it, esp giving oneself a hard time, holding the thoughts "there's something wrong with me" or "I can't do this" will only hold one back.
I suspect that it will come if you persist, mindfully and methodically, you will eventually succeed.
Good best of luck. Let me know how it goes!
