What's the meaning of this picture?

Postby HAGART » 28 May 2014 03:41

(I CHANGED MY AVATAR PICTURE, SO IGNORE THIS. IT WON'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO YOU NOW!)

I was just curious how others interpret my avatar picture to the right there ------->

There's no right or wrong answer.

Simple question for a simple picture, but may provoke some insightful responses. I've heard a few doozies, anywhere from a booger on a shelf to the evolution of life!

Just have fun with it and I'm never offended. :D

To me it looks like something (a simple life form perhaps) trying, possibly struggling, to climb up on something.

Interesting. I won't reveal the true inspiration until a later date. Keep 'em coming!

It's an ectoplasmic sperm cell. Slimer's been jacking off whilst peeping at the living through bathroom windows.

This is a good Rorschach Test for your dirty minds! ;)

nesgirl's mind is pure though. Maybe it's a guy thing to see sex in everything. I won't watch Ghostbusters the same way again now!

I'll wait for more responses before I continue because I don't want to influence anyone's interpretation.

#1 A stylized Wild turkey.
#2 A cat cruelly died green, sleeping on the edge of a bathroom sink.
#3 Obama out of his Obama suit in his true Reptiloid form.
#4 A sack full of money sitting on a shelf.
#5 Something an artist created to mess with the minds of people whom want to know what it is.
#6 A raccoon hat dyed green and sitting on a shelf.
#7 The cut out heart of a Rockefeller stored on a refigerator shelf until it can be given directly to Lucifer.
#8 Someones vomit that only hit the edge of a bathroom sink and is leaking to the floor- oh wait I already said Obama out of his Obama suit - no!
#9 I refuse to say number nine as I don't want to be assassinated.

Patrick is chasing SpongeBob because he want's to have sex with him.... :P
(You edited after I wrote this... I do that too sometimes. You said you changed your avatar picture and how it's interesting to hear what others think and I was making fun of the immature male attitude ;) )

(I was going to give this a week before I told the story behind it and my thoughts of the answers, so I'll do that either tomorrow or later tonight).

My joke fell flat with you, nesgirl, but I think others got it. (I was making fun of how guys see sex in everything. I was making fun of that, not your picture at all. :D )

Anyway, I'll tell the story about my avatar picture. The INCREDIBLE artist who mastered 3rd grade finger painting who made this was, me! 8-)

Snaggle wrote:#5 Something an artist created to mess with the minds of people whom want to know what it is.

Close. That was why I made this thread, but not why I made the picture.

My brother gave me a paint set for my birthday to play with and I didn't know what to do with it, so I decided to try and paint an image I saw during a hypnopompic dream I had. It was after a dream, and still had my eyes closed and I saw a simple image I can't forget. It was several years ago, and yet still remember it.

There's no way my artistic ability would do it justice, but I tried anyway, and it sort of works in it's simplicity. The actual vision I had was much dimmer and there was a vague image of a long shelf with one end vertical as though it was a book end, and the rest of the shelf was devoid of books. But drooping off the edge was a vibrant, glowing, green blob. But when I saw it, I had the undeniable feeling that the green thing was alive.

Then I woke up.

It was short, but made me wonder why some objects in dreams, even though I have never seen them before, and are nothing like any other living organism I know of, feel alive. (That could be another whole topic).

As for the painting: I wanted the green blob to be the 'light source' of the painting and make it glow, and reflect off that 'shelf' as I call it, but that is very hard. (Beyond my ability). So I added a curl at the end of it to make it seem like it's not falling due to gravity, but rising up again to give a hint that it has control, hence alive. So that's the meaning.

I wanted to see if others detected any 'life' in this even though it's just a few simple shapes. As it turns out, you all did!

Vonazar got it: "A simple life form perhaps"
Summerlander and JeJe got it: Sperm on a couch or even jizz from another world is also alive. (dead, but animated?... don't know how ghosts procreate ;) ), but it does look like a flagellum doesn't it? I didn't notice that before.
nesgirl got it: Add a tail to the ball, and it makes a simple shape seem alive doesn't it?
Snaggle got it: That entity that 'body snatched' President Bush and made him act stupid and say all those crazy things has now jumped ship and is inhabiting Barrack Obama like a puppet master, and it too is green. It's a monster called, Money! ;) It's alive! And trying to gain citizenship. "Corporations are people, my friend". - Mitt Romney.

Nice work, Hagart! I like the idea of recreating your vision and seeing how others interpret it.

I'll be perfectly honest I saw a green sperm, exhausted from all its efforts and climbing onto a couch to have a rest....
