I had a weird experience

Postby anakin680 » 14 Nov 2015 05:48

I tried lucid dreaming for the first time purposefully (I have successfully attempted this by realizing I was awake during a dream, but never by trying before I fell asleep) by remaining fully relaxing and laying on my back in the corpse position, (and yes there was some sound, a tv, but I couldn't help it so I just tuned it out) but about 10 minutes in my arm involuntarily swung and hit me in the face. Immediately after I saw a shadow that dissipated quickly. I then ignored it and tried a second time. That time, my arms swung up into the position people are put in when they're in coffins. That time I stopped trying and haven't been able to go back to sleep after 35 minutes. Ever since I've had insane goosebumps and have been completely paranoid, and it may all have been in my mind, but should I be concerned?

I believe you're just experiencing hypnagogic hallucinations. I've had similar "scary" things happen to me too. Just know that they are simply hallucinations. I remembered it kept happening when I was in that paranoid mindset and I couldn't sleep well neither. Over time I became more comfortable with everything related to "spiritual" stuff and it subsided. Those hallucinations are just a manifestation of your fears. Once you get comfortable and realize there is nothing that can harm you, you no longer fear those things and those hallucinations will stop
