Pilgrim Seeking Progress

Postby Pilgrim » 10 Apr 2016 11:05

My age is in mid 40s. I hold two theolgical degrees, Masters in Accounting, and an allied health degree. I enjoy investing and home renovation.

I had three unique experiences with dreams when I was about 16 years. The dreams were predictive of events that would transpire. These predictive dreams never occurred again. The experiences cannot be verified as if to contribute to evidence for supernatural, but they were quite meaninful to me personally.

A couple of years ago, I came across some information on lucid dreaming on the internet. I am fairly gifted at lucid dreaming. I never utilized a dream journal. The typical reality checks trigger my awareness of the dream. One of my favorite activities is flying. I am amazed at how realistic the wind from the flight feels. I chased a jet liner in a dream recently, but was unable to catch up to it.

I also attempt fellowship with God in lucid dreams. To theistic doubters, I say that it is no more strange than attempting fellowship with God while awake. The Scriptures that I accept as beneficial and true are filled with accounts of God communicating via dreams.

I look forward to participating on this forum. I have already read some of the posts, and I know that really gifted people are writing.

GOOD Luck on your Journey.
I think many people, as they grow older an mature turn,
from the more mundane adventures and sexual adventures to
explore the spiritual. There are many great books out there
on this spiritual lucid turning. I just discovered one that
I am excited about written by Robert Waggoner:
Lucid Dreaming Gateway to The Inner-self.
What makes this so important to me is his discovery that there
is a consciousness BEHIND the dream that you can SHOUT OUT
your intention to; a hidden observer behind the dream.
I had never heard this talked about in any other
of the literature I had read. I 've been using it with wondrous
success.
I wish you the very best.

I haven't read the book yet, but chatting with the author recently, I didn't get the impression that he regarded this consciousness behind the dream to be anything separate from or outside of ones own mind. In fact, in discussions of using lucid dreaming to heal oneself, he noted that "those who took matters into their own hands, and acted to heal themselves directly in the lucid dream" seemed to be more successful.

Thanks for the conversation. I will probably have a look at this book at some point. I believe that I have seen some You Tube videos with this author. I am expecting he has (or similar to) New Age or pantheistic perspective. The Consciousness could be both entirely within himself and one with the divine in his view.

That may well be but regardless of his leanings, if the techniques works,...definitely use it
and see where it takes you.

Good luck

Hi Thepurple:
Robert is good about getting back with people.
I've been carrying on an e-mail correspondence with him
for awhile now, to. He has been very helpful. I am just
re-acquainting myself with Patricia Garfield and picked up
a couple of her books from Amazon. Read her first book on
Creative Dreaming years ago but nothing since then.

Yes, Thanks for the info. I am happy to learn techniques from anyone, even when they adopt other worldviews. He is talking to consciousness as if it were a god. I talk to God through the mediator--Christ Jesus

I believe he is talking to consciousness as an Inner Self Helper, an inner guide, a higher aspect of the self.
I don't know what Roberts take is on God as such.
