No motivation?

Postby Etamag » 19 Nov 2016 16:23

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, but have been practicing lucid dreaming in the past, to some success. I've stopped about a year ago as my work has becone increasingly demanding.

The last few weeks I've been practicing again, but to no avail :( . I do manage to make time for reality checks, ADA, meditation and other things that used to work, but it seems that I can't gather the mental availability, motivation and mindset for lucid dreaming: my mantras (MILD) aren't as meaningful, I can't wake myself up for FILD, etc.

So my question is, how do you develop the motivation required for lucid dreaming, and the mental stamina essential to truly question our reality? I'd love it if you could share your methods.

P.S: My current goal that got me back into lucid dreaming is creating Hogwarts from Harry Potter in my mind and using magic :D

I too, am currently in the process of getting over a dry spell. I had a large pause of dreams due to being busy.
I had my first lucid dream in a year a night or two ago, and it's purely because I think I've become obsessed with researching sleep, dreams, brainwaves, etc.
All I've been doing, is an hourly reality check (create hourly reminders on phone or tablet), I've fixed my sleep schedule, I write my dreams down, and I've been reading as many articles as I can on this site, whenever I have time.
I think the biggest motivation is remember how fun lucid dreaming was for me, and how cool it is to read about them on this site
this is a load of barnacles

Have you had time to do it? Sometimes, I have time for something (like lucid dreaming) that i want to do but cant bring myself to do it. No reason in sight either. like a mental roadblock. I doubt you have this problem but just a thought.
