Should I be scared?

I really want to have a lucid dream using the WILD technique. I got really freaked out by the sleep paralysis possibility. Is it something that I should be scared of, and is it that common? I haven't had a nightmare in over a year.

I know the feeling. I can't seem to WILD at night because of the anxiety, even though every source I've seen says it's alright.
I haven't read Jasmine's info, but what I do as a "killswitch" for sleep paralysis is focus on wiggling my toes, then blinking my eyes (hard). Go back and forth untill you can move your calves and from there I usually can move my whole leg and break free*.

*I've exsperienced about a 1/3 chance of this sending me into a false awakening if paired with a wake back to bed.
Could be good or bad, depending on if you're good at catching those.
