Eye movement during REM sleep

Postby Juslisne » 16 Jan 2018 15:07

I would like to know how the eyes move during REM sleep, ie, the way they dart around under the eyelid.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Here is an interesting article about rapid eye movements (REM) during dreams.

Also, there is an interesting similarity between REM sleep and a type of psychotherapy for treating traumatic memories - called EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). When processing certain memories and emotions, the therapist will use hand movements or a mechanical device to guide the client's eyes in a side-to-side movement.

I've seen a documentary about some experience during LD. Some persons during theirs lucidity moved thiers eyes with some different codes like to send different signal to the medic. Ok its not about the question but I remember of that reading your question. Maybe that could interest some LDer here.
