You imagine what kind of personality and appearance you want a particular dream character to have being the artist, and then bring them to life. In a lucid dream, it is a bit like a virtual reality as you can create them to life right in front of you if you so desire. Because designers often have so many character ideas in the industries, often character creation and role playing with them are the quickest ways of finding out what characters will work out in the future, and which ones are going to get rejected.
