having troubles

i have had some lucid dreams before one of wich i looked in a mirror and sall a different person immedietly relised i was dreaming in some other i just said i was dreaming and became lucid in one i did a reality check and counted my fingers but i had six i then stuck one hand in the other then just checked the clock over and over but in all these i have relised i was dreaming but it felt like i didnt reallly have complete control i just knew i was asleep so i wasnt fully lucid now im having trouble becoming lucid or even remembering my dreams i have probably only been lucid 5 times now so i am still new also i have a question on trying to have a wild i wake up around 3 or 4 am and lay back repeating i will become lucid and i will remember my dreams i lay back and then i think about dont swallow but i cant stop my reflex and do it anyways any advice on either subject ps im new here so sorry if i sound dumb

it's really hard for me to keep track of your sentences and questions, but here my ansers:

- first off: being lucid does not mean that you control your dream! that's a common misunderstanding. being lucid means that you know that you're dreaming.
so you were fully lucid.

- do you keep a dream-journal? that's vital for a good lucid-training.

- trying to not swallow? i don't think that's necessary (or healthy that is) ^^

Best to try not to focus at all on that swallowing thing... the more you do, the more you could feel its an issue and the more distraction it will be. Try to focus on something else to distract you from focusing on that. Its like an itch.. the more you think of it, the more distracting it will be.
