Gateways Of The Mind is a 2-day conference dedicated to the discussion of lucid dreaming and out of body experiences. The event has five high profile speakers who will each present on their specialist areas.
Showcasing both ancient and modern theories from western science, Tibetan Buddhism and the Toltec / Aztec tradition, this large scale event offers the opportunity to learn about lucid dreaming from some of the world's leading experts.
Held at the prestigious Royal Geographical Society in London, UK, the conference runs for two days from 9am to 5.30pm on 3rd & 4th November, 2012.

Beyond the main conference, a separately bookable one-day workshop runs on Monday 5th November and will be hosted by Charlie Morley and Robert Waggoner, entitled Lucid Dreaming: Techniques and Insights for Spiritual Growth.

Robert Waggoner is author of the acclaimed book, Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self, and a past President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD). For the last ten years, he has been co-editor of the online magazine, The Lucid Dreaming Experience. Robert has been a lucid dreamer since 1975 and has logged around 1,000 lucid dreams. He conducts his own online workshops with GlideWing Productions and speaks at colleges and conferences worldwide.
Robert frequently speaks on lucid dreaming at national and international dream conferences, workshops and college classrooms. Robert has been interviewed by CNN, ABC News, and as a lucid dream expert for the movie, Inception.
Charlie Morley is a self-taught lucid dreamer since the age of 17 and has been a practicing Buddhist for the past 10 years. At the age of 25 Charlie started teaching lucid dreaming within the context of Tibetan Buddhism at the personal request of his mentor and well known meditation instructor Rob Nairn.
In late 2010 Charlie and Rob began to create and pioneer a new holistic approach to lucid dreaming and conscious sleeping called Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep. Since then Charlie has run lucid dreaming workshops and retreats around the UK, Europe, Africa and America. He has lectured at universities and gave the first ever talk on lucid dreaming at the esteemed TED conferences.
In November 2012 Charlie’s first book Dreams of Awakening will be launched at the Gateways of the Mind conference. The book provides a synthesis of the best dream practices that the East and West has to offer.
Graham Nicholls is the author of Avenues of the Human Spirit and Navigating the Out-of-Body Experience. He is a specialist on OBEs and related research and has left his body many hundreds of times over the last 25 years. He has also spent many years teaching and guiding people through their first OBE, or helping them reach a state of inner peace or awareness through their own perceptions and abilities.
Graham has lectured at venues including Cambridge University, The Theosophical Society, The London College of Spirituality, and the Science Museum. He has also been widely featured by the press, including the BBC, The Independent, The Telegraph, The Daily Express, and The Times. He has also written for the journal of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Kindred Spirit magazine. Taking a western approach, Graham Nicholls has collaborated with scientists including Rupert Sheldrake and continues to support a scientific methodology towards the exploration of human consciousness.
Dr Michael Katz is a psychologist, former Yantra Yoga instructor, author, artist and long time student of contemporary masters of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon. He authored Tibetan Dream Yoga- The Royal Road to Enlightenment and edited Dream Yoga and the Practice of Natural Light by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu.
Katz was featured in the Discovery channel video series The Power of Dreams (1994) with Stephen LaBerge and Tenzin Wangyal, as well as the movie Tamara's sacred Journey (2011). He has traveled internationally since the 1980s conducting retreats for the purpose of introducing and training lucidity in the dream state. In particular he has been amongst the pioneers in hypnotic induction for lucidity during "guided naps". His retreats are characterized by the use of lucid dream enactment he has titled Lucid Dream Theater Work for the purpose of deepening the experience of the lucid dream state.
Sergio Magaña, “Ocelocoyotl”, is a well-known healer in Mexico City, who has been initiated into the 5,000-year-old Toltec or Toltecayotl lineage of Mesoamerica.
The tradition began with the ancient Chichimecas, who transmitted it to Teotihuacans and then Toltecs, who then taught both the Mayans and Aztecs. Sergio is also trained in the Tol shamanic lineage (nahualism) of dreaming knowledge that has been passed on in the oral tradition without interruption from master to student for 1,460 years. The time for these teachings to be unveiled is now and Sergio is one of a few spokespeople asked to share this ancient wisdom with the world.
Sergio is the founder of Centro Energético Integral, a featured author in the book Transforming Through 2012 and the author of 2012-2021: The Dawn of the Sixth Sun.
